A Fire in Autumn

Eighteen years ago, the dread sorceress Alectrona du Malestroite cursed the infant princess Aurora Rose de Venetia to prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and fall into an enchanted slumber that would last one hundred years.

As Aurora's eighteenth birthday draws near, far away, in the land of eternal autumn, Falhallow, Princess Fiammetta Maria d'Eluned, has her own troubles and worries, mainly that of developing her Primary ability with fire.

But when she develops an unexpected Primary ability, Fia learns her own connection to the events that took place eighteen years earlier and discovers that she has a crucial role to play in the rise of the next Quaternary.
