Cursed Genius

Francis Mawson Rattenbury. A murdered genius. A victim of love. He was an architectural virtuoso who designed some of Canada's most memorable structures. Francis Rattenbury dreamed on the grandest of scales and created edifices that remain incredible sonnets in wood and stone a century after his blueprints were penned. But, he was also a man of meagre empathy and faint regard for others, a victim of his urges who died a bludgeoned cuckold to a woman half his age. His murder and the sensational trial that followed his death spawned books, plays and movies. His buildings remain landmarks but he was truly a forgotten Canadian hero.
