My Poetry Decoded

Poetry was my voice before I knew I had a voice. My thoughts, feelings and emotions were expressed in every line I wrote. This collection of poems are lessons. They tell stories of growth. They express the mind of a boy with potential to be more than what his environment may have shown him. A boy wise enough to know the color of his skin doesn't define him as a man. That love and and happiness come from within. A boy that knew in order for him to become a man that he had to love more, feel more, grow more, experience more. I've taken the time to add descriptions to each of the poems. Adding context increases knowledge. I explain some of those lessons I learned. What inspired these poems. How they came about and what they mean to me. I want you to take these poems, see and hear yourself in them. With me, reflect on the times in your youth where you've experienced these things and let's grow, heal and laugh together.
