Victor Benz felt the dark undercurrents of ethnic hostility before it became quite clear to everyone. He was a nobody in the suburb of cookie-cutter houses, but that pretty much-made things worse. Someone wanted him dead because of the things he knew and wasn't ready to give up hunting. Just about three weeks before then, a known felon had visited his dilapidated apartment but met no one. Tonight, everything changes. The criminal was in the suburb again. At a few ticks past twelve, in the dead of night, a band of assassins drove to the suburb in twelve Cruisers, riding all laid-back. Their leader, a black American hunk, whose network blossomed in the high and low, stood stiff like oak in the unchartered territory. At the spur of the moment, a newly wedded couple from the east settled outside to enjoy the cold breeze but soon got blown out of water. They ran in with their hearts in their mouth, but no one cared.
