Ripples on the Lake

The American preacher, John Baptiste, has become a world-wide phenomenon, so popular that some are calling him the reincarnation of John the Baptist. People of all religions follow him; even the pope is enthralled by him. But some governments, particularly the United States, Britain and Russia, are not happy with John Baptiste's success; they see his influence as being a threat to the 'good order' of things. Matters seem to be resolved when the preacher is killed in an avalanche in the Himalayas when on a visit to a Buddhist friend. Then, three months later, when his body is found and brought back to the States, a freak of nature, by way of a lightning strike, he is brought back to life. Now, the whole world wants to know if there is a Heaven, and if there is life after death. The three governments, the USA, Britain and Russia, await with great interest to hear what he will say. As does the rest of the world.
