Dear Infidel

When a religious cult seized control of her home, Noelle was trapped within the borders of a new country. She now belongs to the United Church of Redemption, a militant and authoritarian regime, and must obey their laws or face execution. As part of her conversion, she was forced to marry a stranger and submit to his control. A convert himself, Simon is reluctant to live by the cruel expectations set by the Church. For nearly a year, they live in silence, trying to forget what was forced on them the night of their coupling ritual. Noelle rarely leaves the house except to visit with another family of converts. She measures her life by the weekly cull of infidels, a public execution held every Sunday in the churchyard. Noelle knows she's living a lie and won't last long under the Church's scrutiny. When a run-in with an officer results in bodily harm, Noelle and Simon begin to open up about their guilt and fear and find they are able to coexist less painfully than they thought. But is their relationship real or have they been indoctrinated by their new society?Robbed of her personhood and terrified to lose the people she loves, Noelle must learn to cope with this new life however she can. Unless she finds a way to escape.
