Softly Screaming is a collection of poems, prose, and quotes about womynhood. It examines the formation of womynhood and the process of escaping what we've been taught is a linear track (i.e. Evan Williams and Evolution of Her). It shares what it can be like to speak up when you've been repeatedly told to shut up (i.e. I Do and For Miss Emily), and the journey of finding and losing love...love of all sorts: friends, places, family, partners, beliefs, self (i.e. No Children and All is Forgiven). It concludes by exploring how we can love ourselves and that sometimes it is scary and messy to learn to love a self that is both imperfect and impermanent (i.e. Redemption and Stardust).
