Fringe and Frivolity is about the fringes of society and the fringes of the mind. Everyone belongs to some sort of fringe group; they are called niche groups. It means that you belong to a group that is not mainstream, not normal, not common, distinctly you. Frivolity, though not related to groups of people, represents a fringe of the mind. It is not serious; it is not to be taken seriously. These are poems that are written along the fringe of free time, free time being the fringe of our day. It is what we write on the Sabbath, the fringe of the week. It represents that time that is not normal, not common, distinctly you. It is what is written in our "me" time, in the time where we do not focus outward, but instead focus inward, into the recesses of our mind.
