Crown of Light

The war is over. The Empire lost. Simon Tremayne flees the destruction of his home world, taking his family and the Talismans, the Crown and Scepter, to safety. Piloting his ship, Syrsie, through the enemy blockade, he escapes, but not without damage. Forced to stop at another star system for repairs, they are ambushed by a Jymaszarr pilot who orders them to hand the Talismans over. The Talismans, the Crown and Scepter are not inanimate objects. They are powerful, sentient, crystalline entities with their own agendas. The Mimtyrran Duchess covets the Crown for its power. The Jymaszarr fear it and want it destroyed. Either way, Simon and his sons would be sacrificed as well. T'sarren, a Shenfyrradaran agent intervenes, sending Simon and his family to the one place their enemies won't know to look.
