Roadside Paradise Series - Book . The devastating attack on Tarquin left the troupe of Roadside Paradise wondering if they would ever recover. V withdraws from everyone, leaving Athena to take matters into her own hands. She decides to use her position as V's contractor to give him the ultimate command-defeat Andrew Donovan and save her abducted sister. Just before the troupe hits the road again, a proposition for a private show comes along. But when V asks Athena to act as ring leader for the private show, rehearsals prove challenging, as feelings begin stirring in Athena that have everyone worried about her contract with the powerful deity. Concerns about V's growing powers continue to mount as he begins to overwhelm Athena. Following another warning about Donovan, Athena wonders if they are playing into the Guild's trap by making V stronger.
