The "ABC & Phonétique" is a French alphabet book with some simplified phonetics, which will help every beginner to make progress. The French phonetic method roots back to the year 1762, when the pastor Jean-George Stuber published the book "Alphabet Méthodique." It was a little book of 52 pages with 47 lessons to teach children and adults how to read and spell. Stuber decomposed words then isolated each part for correct pronunciation and spelling. His method was like a music professor teaching his students musical notes before instructing them to play music. After studying all the segments and articulation, the students were able to read on their own. This method is a powerful tool in learning French. The "ABC & Phonétique" is a modern version of the "Alphabet Méthodique." There are many similar words in both the English and French languages. However, it is quite tricky for English-speaking people to learn the French language because of the different pronunciations. Beginning with phonetics is a way to demystify the language and to gain confidence for the beginner in French. For those who missed learning the basic French phonetics, this book is perfect to go over.
