Lonnetta Waters is a Homicide Detective for the D. C. P. D. She finds herself back in her hometown of Winston Salem, N. C. after she gets a call that her Uncle passed away from a stroke. While back home for the funeral, she learns that a vicious sexual predator that calls himself "The Creeper" is on the loose stalking and savagely killing young African-American prostitutes. The case becomes personal to Lonnetta when she sees that her old neighborhood is being ruined by a pimp. But after meeting a young girl that was working the streets as a prostitute by the name of Roshell, who becomes the victim of a gruesome murder, Lonnetta finds that she cannot leave her hometown without putting the person they call "The Creeper" in jail. But one thing is in the way. She is out of her jurisdiction, so she has to convince the Chief of Winston Salem to let her work the case. With help from the M. E. by the name of Alice, they put together a team of several other Detectives. They work diligently and hard to solve this horrible and bizarre crime!
