Gigantika
David Phillips
After aimlessly criss-crossing the globe for over three quarters of a century without once landing, the great engines of the massive airship, Gigantika finally clatter to a stop as her sole passenger, now a very old man, frets in his cabin, terrified to contemplate his return to a world he feels he will be unable to understand. He dreams of his luxurious life aboard the Gigantika, his every need tended to by a faithful but robotic steward, Blech. He tries to remember how he first came aboard the airship but can only picture that final day on the promenade at Nice in 1937 when he witnessed a strange robbery taking place at the casino.
