Adrian Thoreau is a successful businessman in California who is half Japanese. After personal upheaval and receipt of a cryptic message concerning his Japanese heritage, he decides to go to Japan to investigate his family's mysterious, supposedly cursed history. In Japan, he experiences a series of misadventures that lead him to a hidden village that holds dark secrets about his ancestry. The village, however, turns out to be a bridge to a supernatural world that offers Adrian far more than he bargains for. Kanetomo Urabe, who lives in 14th century Japan, is unaware that he is the son of a local ruler and only gradually grows into his full earthly and spiritual powers. Fate eventually binds Adrian's and Urabe's destinies with unexpected consequences for both. Kitsune is the first of the two-book series "Bride of the Fox."
