Route 66 West

Humble by his religion, and proud because of his heritage, he came out of the backwoods mountain in search of his dreams; and thought that he had found his lifetime mate, until he volunteered for the army and was sent overseas. However a 'Dear John' letter, and a decree of divorce, ended all of that, and he returned to the Arkansas bayou bottoms to start a new life. Then a telephone call in the middle of the night resulted in a manslaughter conviction for which he served two years in a penitentiary. After serving his time, he again returned to the bayou bottoms and home, in search of a new start. But home wasn't there anymore, and he knew that he couldn't stay, but where should he go? While making that decision he began by checking his qualifications; he knew that the animals in the bayou bottoms of Arkansas had taught him how to be elusive and cunning; and he was more proficient in the use of weapons than anyone that he knew by the time that he was twelve. Then he had learned the rough-and- tumble catch as catch can style of fighting, simply because that is what you did if you lived in the bottoms. In the army he was instructed in judo and hand to hand combat, and while he was serving in the Far East he became proficient in the martial arts; and with his natural instincts and lighting quick reaction he reckoned that he could handle any situation. With the decision made, he bundled up all of his belongings and headed for the wide-open space of the west.
