Satlight

This short book is an impressive account of six Israelis with unparalleled resolve, who in mere seven months developed Satlight, a state-of-the-art transportable scanner for instant transmission of color photos. Inspired by the vision of Efi Arazi, using Satlight, publications are able to receive high resolution color photographs of events thousands of miles away that occur only hours before the printing process starts running. The launch with an engineering prototype placed in Los Angeles to cover the 1984 Olympic games, saw dozens of news organizations from around the world transmit hundreds of pictures via Satlight, over a blazingly fast communication link just installed by AT& T.
