Busy as HSP with dissociation
Deni Iseli
I have been constantly busy all my life. My parents made sure I was constantly busy. Society stimulates people to be constantly busy. The presence of the mental illnesses PTSD, (open and hidden) narcissism, codependency, gaslighting (cunning manipulation technique of hidden narcissism) and TPS that I grew up with also kept me busy. Until I collapsed in 2007. I was exhausted because I was constantly busy. Now that I am 63 years old and making progress with my therapy, I realize that it is unhealthy to be constantly busy. Everything I do takes energy. After all, my body works non-stop 24 hours a day. It is not easy to rest every day. It is a matter of getting used to resting for a certain amount of time each day. This also applies to people who do not have a burnout. I had never learned to have a balance between exercising and relaxing every day. As HSS, I keep trying and experiencing in terms of my daily activities. I am now consciously busy with things I want to do. I am now aware of what things I don't want to be busy with.
