A mafia henchman (Sonny Bolgero) from Cleveland, Ohio is released from the Ohio State Penitentiary in early July of 1930 as a result of the prison running low on funds, due to the Great Depression. When Sonny arrives back in his old neighborhood (Little Italy) five years earlier than anticipated, he is shocked to discover that his girlfriend (Francesca Strindberg) has already moved on and is married to the boss of The Cleveland Crime Family (Frank Milano). Now, flat broke and in the middle of a depression Sonny decides to turn a blind eye and continue working for Frank, but revenge is imminent.
