How do you face life when it seems almost everything you cherished has been taken away? Richard and Anita (Emerald) Collins face that challenge. Their new life together was almost cut short because of the actions of Anita's old enemy, Bernie Carlson. If Bernie's plan would have succeeded, they would have been found in the ashes of their home following a deadly fire. At least they had one another. Escaping that tragedy, a new life filled with hopes and dreams presents itself. That is, until Richard is confronted with accusations that may bring his career his career as the respected and esteemed Principal of Emerald High to an end. Couple that with a challenge to Police Chief Liz Jackson, who saved their lives, being accused of misconduct, it would appear that Bernie's reign of terror reaches back from the grave. Can anything more happen that will disrupt these people in their ideal community?
