ORCINUS PREVIEW SECOND EDITIONIn the late twenty-first century, a species of vampires known as Orcins were facing challenges. Humans, the dominant race, corrupted by greed and power, were contaminating the planet. However, this was the Orcins' world, too, but their population was not large enough to have the impact of the more than twelve billion humans. The Orcin intent was to take advantage of the sexual drive of human's compulsive addictive behaviors by seducing them into trading the unusually erotic sexual favors of the highly sensual vampires for a couple pints of blood needed for them to survive from day-to-day. The Orcin hierarchy chose Vincent, an Orcin known for his empirical research and excellent rapport with humans, to develop a comprehensive plan for a cohabitive relationship between the two species. This effort should have been easy except for Vincent's autism. Although highly intelligent, his disability makes his attempts to fulfill his role as peacemaker difficult. He often struggles with every day activities that most people take for granted. While his species are patriarchal, the women who become vampires and deeply love him are strong-willed, and each in their own way, help him to attain his objectives. The tension that ensues, as the humans and Orcins like Vincent try to work out their differences, results in a sometimes amusing, but always exciting, page-turning, action thriller.
