Mercy is the first album of new songs from John Cale in more than a decade. Album features collaborations by artists such as Tony Allen, Laurel Halo, Weyes Blood, Avey Tare & Panda Bear (from Animal Collective), Dev Hynes, Sylvan Esso and more.

The album was inspired by major global events of our time such as Donald Trump's presidency, Brexit, Covid, climate change and other big themes.
