Chung Kuo - China

1970s documentary filmed in China during Mao Zedong's Cultural Revolution by Italian director Michelangelo Antonioni. Making the best of government-imposed limitations, the film explores the country's culture and customs, visiting various cities including Beijing and Shanghai and sights such as The Great Wall, paying particular attention to the working-class people and the struggles they face.
