The Theatre du Soleil in Paris mounted this epic-length, avant-garde theatrical production, conceived and designed by the theatre's founder, Ariane Mnouchkine, and set to music composed by Jean-Jacques Lemetre. The version glimpsed herein was performed and filmed in 2009. The work in question unfolds in a space situated between two sets of bleachers, a thoroughfare that finds actors rolling along on mobile sets, where they present very loosely linked dramatic playlets of around 2-3 minutes in length.
