Merlin Walford (voice of Yuusaku Yara) is a wise philosopher who goes into hiding and raises an orphan deep in the woods of Earlshide. As the orphan, Shin Walford (Yusuke Kobayashi), makes his way in modern-day Japan he has developed the ability to cast magic as well as perform martial arts.

However, these skills make up for his lack of common sense and ability to socialise. By enrolling in a Magic Kingdom, Shin hopes to harness his powers as well as keep away any unwanted attention.
