Herbert Wilcox directs this drama starring Anna Neagle as Florence Nightingale, the 19th century nurse and hospital crusader who helped to reform the nursing profession. Based on the play by Reginald Berkeley, the film follows Nightingale during the Crimean War, as she attempts to improve sanitation in medical environments, with the help of Lord Herbert (Michael Wilding).
