Say It With Flowers / Song of the Road

Double bill of 1930s dramas from director John Baxter. 'Say It With Flowers' (1934) follows husband and wife Joe (Ben Field) and Kate Bishop (Mary Clare), who make a living selling flowers at the local market. When they get into financial trouble, their friends at the market help them out by holding a benefit concert.

'Song of the Road' (1937) follows Bill (Bransby Williams), an ageing man who works for the council driving a horse and cart. When he has difficulty adjusting to the transition to motor vehicles, he takes his horse on a journey through the countryside where he hopes to find alternative work.
