Filmed in 1964 at the Fairfield Halls, Croydon, Benjamin Britten conducts the English Chamber Orchestra in performances of Mozart's 'Symphony No. 40' and his own 'Nocturne', accompanied by tenor Peter Pears. Also included are extracts of Britten performing Mendelssohn's 'Symphony No.3' at a gala opening of the Snape Maltings concert hall during the mid 1970s.
