Fuse
Everything But The Girl
After an extended hiatus of more than 20 years, one of the most original pop duos of the 90s are back to reclaim their glory on their new album, Fuse. An album where Everything But The Girl provide a modern take on the lustrous electronic soul the band first pioneered in the mid-90s, staying completely true to the club-oriented trajectory they left off with on their key albums Walking Wounded (1996) and Temperamental (1999), without sounding even remotely stale.
Thorn's affecting and richly-textured voice is once again up front in Watt's glimmering landscape of sub-bass, sharp beats, half-lit synths and empty space, and as before, the result is the sound of a band comfortable with being both sonically contemporary, yet agelessly themselves.
