Live It Up! Adventures In Arranging With The Los Angeles Keyboard King
Ernie Freeman
? For a musician as important and indeed prolific as Ernie Freeman, remarkably little of his enormous body of work has been made available during the CD era.
? Across this excellent set are 32 of his many 45s including 7 hits which made the US charts "Lost Dreams", "Dumplin's", "Raunchy", "Indian Love Call", "Swamp Meeting", "The Twist" and "The Dark from the Top of the Stairs".
? As well as a recording artist Ernie was also an arranger and during the 1950s and well in to the 60s he was the most in demand arranger in Hollywood for r&b, rock and roll and pop. In 1969 he arranged Simon & Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" for which he won a Grammy.
? Fans of rock and roll instrumentals, loungecore and space age pop will find plenty to get excited in this long overdue CD.
