Jason Reynolds
Indiana native, Jason Reynolds has quickly become one of Nashville's finest! Jason is rare amongst his generation of musicians. He is one of the few left who believes in working very hard with drive, determination and dedication to achieve his goals. While he's had his share of ups and downs, Jason marches on with his brand of original pop/rock, playing to any audience that is willing to listen. Never known for sticking to one particular genre, Jason's music covers a wide range of classic rock, psychedelic, pop, alternative, folk, and even a little country/rock. Jason writes exactly what he feels. He writes a lot about personal experiences, good and bad. Whether it be reflecting on his past, or his relation to current events. Jason has never been focused on writing the 'next big hit', though a good portion of his music could easily be heard on radio and/or television. Jason is a multi-talented artist playing drums, guitar, bass and piano, and he sings, too! He began with three years of piano lessons. That was followed by ten years of drums lessons, while at the same time learning his first few guitar chords from his father. He then had two years of vocal lessons, and even started to pick up the banjo and ukulele. Jason has played drums for numerous bands. While at the same time honing his guitar skills and crafting his songwriting. Over the years Jason has worked with numerous songwriters and performers. He is highly sought after for both his musicianship and production skills, among local artists. From 1992 to 1998, Jason played drums, and occasionally the bass for numerous local bands throughout the Midwest. After many of the projects he was asked to be in failed, he decided to continue on his own. In 1999, his first CD, which was recorded in Cincinnati, OH, Waiting For The Day, was released. With the two singles, What Will You Do? And Find My Way To You receiving some airplay. Later that year he took his dreams and bag full of talent and moved on to Nashville, TN. After a brief hiatus due to a car accident, he bounced back to record his second effort, Can Anybody Hear Me? His sophomore CD found Jason's songwriting expanding. He began delving into different genres and styles of music. This work was recorded in Nashville, TN. Feelings began receiving radio airplay on select college stations. Jason's highly anticipated third release, Euphoria released in May 2003 has proven to be his best work to date. Recorded in Nashville, it has received very high marks from music critics and industry insiders, alike. Two tracks reported worldwide airplay through early 2004, Home In The Clouds and How Do You Know? Which led him to register as a BMI Artist. As of September 2004 Euphoria has sold over 1000 units. Not too bad for an independent artist who has spent the last couple of years playing only acoustic shows. In May 2004, Jason released Images and Afterthoughts his first acoustic album, his fourth overall. Realizing that the acoustic market is not typically very profitable didn't faze him at all. He wanted to record an album that represented what he has been doing live the last couple of years. It has sold fairly well, exceeding expectations. The end of 2004 finds Jason working on his fifth album, which he will be recording and producing on his own. The beginning of 2005 will bring many exciting changes, as Jason will be heading back to school for the Recording Arts, at SAE Institute in Nashville. Jason has been earning respect from peers for both his musicianship and songwriting ability. For the past few years, Jason has been showing audiences both his musical ability and showmanship all over the Midwest and Southeast. Whether performing electric with a band backing him, or performing acoustic at the local coffee house, his show is one you do not want to miss!
