Sophia is Robin Proper-Sheppard, formerly of The God Machine, and a cast of musicians drawn from a pool of bands Robin has worked with throughout his career known as The Sophia Collective. People Are Like Seasons is a bold step forward for the Sophia sound, while continuing to demonstrate the kind of outstanding songwriting skills that earnt the previous two albums (The Infinite Circle and Fixed Water) such widespread acclaim across. Those albums, plus a live album, De Nachten, were written, produced, financed, promoted and distributed by Robin himself on his own The Flower Shop Recordings label. Fiercely independent, Robin’s agreement to work with another label for the first time since The God Machine is an expression of his belief in City Slang and its methods. Mute.
