Rollins Plays For Bird Audiophile edition

For "Rollins Plays For Bird," his tribute to alto saxophonist Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins chose a number of standards he associated with Parker and recorded them within a year of Parker's death. The first track is a 27-minute medley of seven tunes that flow seamlessly into one another. Pianist Wade Legge, in particular, does a wonderful job here, linking the disparate songs together harmoniously.
