7"!!! For Sonar Kollektiv's tradition seasonal 7" MICATONE present two distinct versions of the WHAM! classic Last Christmas and a prefect outlook of their new sound and album. MICATONE have chosen to record their versions - they have actually recorded two very different ones included on this double A sided 7" - in the spirit of the past. With the Soulfood Version featured on one side Last Christmas is transformed into a fantastic piece of soulfulness with a strong Doo Woop feeling and MICATONES singer LISA BASSENGE at her best escalating her powerful voice to an almost prayer at the end. The Back To Nashville Version featured on the other side takes things to a different end with its southern downbeat countryeask feel that evokes pictures of deserts and sun and features - not without reason - a slight guitar that makes you hallucinating that Last Christmas we know so well. Truly heart-breaking it was. Both versions now sound almost as if this song was in reality compost back in those days many other well known Christmas classics had been compost, giving the already reminiscing feeling of the WHAM! original - (its set already in the past with its look back to Last Christmas - the first Christmas song ever that did that) an even stronger sense of past and time. One might even think that WHAM! recorded a cover version of this songs back in the eighties updating it with synths! Almost history revised you might say - just kidding!
