The Truth of Life (Legal Pad Entertainment) Brandon Elbert Alexander Dixon was born on May 1, 1987 in Santa Barbra California; at Cottage Hospital to Patricia Eleen Dixon & Bradley Elbert Dixon. The life of the California streets did not fit the dream of raising a child in the minds of his parents so Brandon moved to Portland, Oregon with his mother and father into his Grandmothers home. While growing up in Portland, Brandon always had the dream and determination to fit in with the other children, but to most he was an outsider, someone that was never be trusted or looked upon as friend. Brandon Dixon grew up in the church where his mother thought he would be safe; believing in a God was always taught in the home. But as he grew older it was something about him, he always had a rhythm in his head loved the sounds of music in general. "I remember sitting in the room watching music videos and saying to myself someday that will be me." said Brandon. At the age of six Brandon's father walked out on him his mother and two younger brother's Bryant & Brent. "I felt like it was my fault. I felt like a part of my life had been stripped from me at such a young age." said Brandon. Not having a male role model and really not having any friends, Brandon began to take legal writing pad and jot down his feelings and frustrations. The phrase 'legal pad' stuck in his head. 'That name that phrase has stuck with me and even today it is my way out; to come home and write; putting down on paper my feeling, concerns, ups & downs and things that happened during the day" Brandon said. Brandon has always had a great passion for music, poetry, singing, rapping. "I started with poetry and from there writing little songs and from that it slowly transformed into Hip Hop" said Brandon. At the age of fourteen Brandon's father died suddenly, without any forwarning. "It was hard; to look at a man that helped bring me into this world, a man that always said he would be there for me but I never saw him.' From here, Brandon really struggled to trust people and even with being close to others, yet his heart for understanding others and their pains and suffering began to grow and manifest through his music. The forces of this world and the passions of his heart began to conflict with oneanother, and soon after he found himself in situations and settings that were detrimental and destructive to his future, but he never lost his trust in God and shortly after found himself on a corner preaching to gang members and prostitutes. In the summer of 2004, Brandon had just completed the first of his solo songs and he was invited to an outdoor concert where the public could freely attend. There were several artist that day and the crowds were small UNTIL BRANDON GRABBED THE MIC. The moment his music began to play, people from all over began to flock to his call. When he finished his set they shouted and cheered for 10 minutes for an encore! And he returned to the stage and gave them more! Almost everyone's response is 'MORE!'
