Feinwerk returns to the source with two exclusive trax from proper techno's original punk rocker Tobias Schmidt. Schmidt, whose extensive back catalogue includes releases on some of the most influential labels in electronic music, including Tresor, Sativae, Scandinavia, Disco B and many many more, once again presents his own unique and interesting style which fuses rock, rave and electro motifs into the techno blueprint. A1 "My Rusty Whip" infuses funky glitches with off kilter B lines and rejuvenated rave stabs constructing a funky groove which builds and builds up to a whoop inducing break, unleashing trademark Schmidt sonic terrorism. A2 "Camel Itch" takes electro melodies and twists them into a funky broken beat odyssey with unconventional drum programming displaying many different influences, backed up with more old school rave stab action. Remix support comes on B2 from Feinwerk grand high wizard Syntax Error, showcasing a slightly more minimal flavour. Kicks and toms fuse with synth textures taking us deep deep underground into flavours perfectly suited to a Sunday afternoon when everyone has been awake far too long.
