Glenn & Benny

This 4-CD box set combines pieces from Glenn & Benny. The Miller set collects two soundtracks from Glenn's movies "Sun Valley Serenade" and "Orchestra Wives." Also included is the 1939 performance from Carnegie Hall featuring Goodman and Paul Whiteman, plus music from the movie "The Glenn Miller Story" starring James Stewart with music adapted by Henry Mancini. The Goodman set contains a wide range of performances from his small group recordings to Benny with strings taken from the 10" LP "Let's Hear The Melody." Also includes the famous radio broadcast from 1951 where he and others played a fund raising concert for Fletcher Henderson who was very ill at that time. Contains 1952 sextet cuts from The New Benny Goodman Sextet.
