Bang The Box started out as a party. As a label, the mission remains the same. Whether it’s a heat-soaked underground, a strobe-lit night club, or 12 inch piece of wax, it’s always going to be just that. A party. We’re rooted in the foundations: Hardy at the Box, Levan at the Garage, Timmy on WBLS, or Mayday on WJLB. From that spirit, we draw our inspiration. Beginning in April of 2011, we began to spread the gospel that is Bang The Box, including music by Lance DeSardi, JT Donaldson, Pillow Talk, Brett Johnson, Dead Seal, Dave Aju, and many more… A little more about us: Bang The Box is an underground dance party-turned record label in San Francisco, California. We bridge the gap between all things in Deep House and Techno. To us, a good tune is exactly that, regardless of the micro-genres bandied about. Just make sure to keep it deep… The Bang The Box events have been a great showcase of talent here in SF. As a resident DJ team of Lance DeSardi, Solar, and Christian Mora, we’ve been able to enlist some of our favorite producers and DJ’s, including John Tejada, Brett Johnson, Ewan Pearson, JT Donaldson, Damian Schwartz, Giles Smith, and many more. All of us as residents have our own styles individually, and we want every guest DJ/live act to push the envelope of what our listeners have previously heard and expect. To us, the great thing about this ever-changing music is exactly that; It’s always new and fresh. The parties are usually intimate affairs in interesting underground locations, as well as some of the more major venues in the city. With all this in mind, it only seemed fitting to start up a label with the same direction and ethos: an anything-goes, small imprint with big sounds. Running out of Drums & Wires Studios in the Soma district of SF, the label focuses on quality Deep House and Techno for the real underground. 2011 is going to be a big year for the BTB label, as we’ve partnered with virtuoso producer and DJ Brett Johnson, to bring
