Why Does Anyone Ever Do Anything?
Lung
*Having signed exclusively to Med School last year, 21-year old Lung brings us his debut solo release on the label. The versatile Cardiff based producer has been making waves in both the D+B and dubstep scenes, releasing on Med School's "New Blood 011" and "Blood Pressure" compilations, appearing on BBC Radio 1 Introducing last year and collaborating with High Contrast on his recent album "The Agony and the Ecstasy". *With recognition from underground tastemakers such as Mary Anne Hobbs and 1Xtra's Crissy Criss right through to Radio 1's Annie Mac as well as a host of cross-genre DJ support, Lung has built a reputation as one of the most promising new talents on the Med School roster.*"Why Does Anyone Ever Do Anything?" is a brooding, contemplative piece, with string-sections soaring over a deep reverberating bassline and gorgeous, emotive lyrics. The track features Welsh vocalist Rachel K Collier, who has worked with legendary garage producer Wookie on his comeback single, as well as Anjuna Beats' latest signing Mat Zo. *After this enticing entrée, Lung effortlessly switches down to 140bpm for accompanying venture "Sky People", a dubstep exploration with wide-open sounds, where booming, bouncy bass plays with sparkling hi-hats and a top layer of melodic bleeps plus breezy snatches of vocal samples.
