Hunt's men return from training in Chicago, and he sends his new recruit, Brian to Chicago. The stage coach carrying a payroll was robbed in Utah when it stopped for water, and the men end up in a long search that ends in a gun battle. Beth's pregnancy develops complications, and Beth fears that she may lose her baby. Hunt believes his dedication to his job is the cause. Needing some rest and relaxation, Hunt takes the Beth to Hidden Valley to spend some quality time with her. Hunt sends his men to Canon City to solve the crimes of murder and claim jumping. The arrests continue to mount up, and shocking arrests of prominent citizens are involved. Clayton is left in charge of the office, and when disaster strikes, he rides to Hidden Valley to seek Hunt's help.
