For one thing, it will be difficult to match the carbon-free method she used to get to the Western Hemisphere on that racing sailboat. Eventually she can probably get a ride back to her home in Sweden by a similar method, but for awhile she will probably remain active here in the Americas which includes the many states of the Union, Canada, Mexico, Central America and the countries of South America that desperately need her inspiration. Coming up next year is a world environmental conference to be held in Chile. She has said she wants to attend it. So that gives her a year to expand her burgeoning following of teen environmental activists. She is an inspiration. American countries are already the worst environmental offenders, especially the United States. Under its present leadership, it does not seem likely that there will be a mass demand for climate action and climate justice by people who have the power to do it. But that may change if there are a hundred million teens marching under the leadership of their quiet inspiration, Greta Thunberg.
