The Quest for Social Responsibility
Andy Sibbald
As I watch what is happening in the United States it seems there is little accountability, or sense of social responsibility. Individual rights are put before those of collective rights and people demand to exercise their Constitutional rights even if doing so can put themselves, or others in harm's way. Evangelical Ministers claim that God will provide a cure for COVID-19 and some have defied health directives about social distancing and filled their churches. Others scoff at science and see the Health Department as some sort of tyrannical body that is out to strip people of their rights. People showed up to the Michigan Legislature with guns demanding that health-related restrictions be lifted and that the economy be re-opened. This book explores, what to many, appears to be the insanity that has gripped the United States during the Presidency of Donald Trump.
