Bob Aberdeen, once a high school and college championship quarterback, has fallen on hard times. Well, not really. He thinks he has. It's just he can't stand living his boring and normal life anymore. Being a nobody when you were once a somebody is a hard pill to swallow. He was told over and over he was destined for great things but it never panned out. Bob peaked too early in life. He only knew football and when he was forced into the real world, he realized he had no skills to offer. Bob currently lives in a small apartment with his dog Edith and works as a security guard at a drug company called Globeumex. He's out of shape and has no girlfriend. His rich parents tell him he needs to buy a house and get married and have children but he doesn't see the point. Instead of trying to get a better job, or improve his life, Bob would rather get drunk and think about past glory and how much better his life was "back in the day."And with nothing on the horizon, Bob comes up with a plan. An escape plan to quit his dumb job and sell all of his possessions and move to Hawaii. A total reset as an anonymous person a million miles away from his hometown of Manceford, Pa, is the only way he thinks he can keep going on with life. He's not ready just yet though. Soon though...he tells himself...soon.
