Gods, Demigods & Heroes is part of the Ancient Greek Heroes series: a collection of original poetry celebrating the heroes and heroines of the myths, stories and legends that came to form the bedrock of the Ancient Greek pantheon. The myths and tales of Ancient Greece have exercised an unending fascination upon the Western world: they form part of the cultural foundation of our western heritage. The rise to preeminence of the Olympian gods, the abduction of Queen Helen and the ensuing Trojan War, the adventures of Ulysses, the voyage of Jason and Argonauts, the labours of Heracles: all continue to be told and retold in various forms and guises down to the present day. This versified collection retells some of the myths and stories from the ancient Grecian canon: putting into modern English verse the stories ancient poets recited to their own audiences millennia ago.
